On Thursday, April 26th, The Guidance Center held its 9th annual Celebrating Families Gala at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge. Through live and silent auctions sponsorships and ticket sales, the event raised over $247,000 for children and families in Cambridge and Somerville!

Robert B. Straus, DMH, JD, Founder of Meeting Place: Supervised Child Access Service, was honored for his tremendous work in the field. Meeting Place: Supervised Child Access Service is now celebrating its 20th year as a program at The Guidance Center! Guests then had the privilege to hear from Meghan Moriarty, a client of The Guidance Center’s Early Intervention program. Ms. Moriarty shared her family’s moving story- giving birth to twins at just 27 weeks, and overcoming the many obstacles encountered since their children’s birth. Ms. Moriarty credited the staff of the Early Intervention program at The Guidance Center as being invaluable to her family and to the development of her children.
Celebrity Auctioneer, Billy Costa, led an energetic live auction - items included a one week stay in a gorgeous Paris apartment, a day of luxury at The Charles Hotel’s Corbu Spa and Noir restaurant, an ultimate sports lovers package, with exclusive seats at both Patriots and Red Sox games, and many unique experiences, including a chance to star on New England Cable News’ TV Diner Show with host Billy Costa!
We would like to thank our speakers, sponsors, auction donors and bidders who came together to Celebrate Families with The Guidance Center.
Special thanks to our Guidance Center and Riverside Community Care staff volunteers and Board members who helped make this event such a huge success! Thank you also to LoLo Event Design for adding some “sparkle” to our event!
