The Guidance Center is the leading provider of innovative, family-centered programs for children and families in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. Founded in 1954, The Guidance Center entered into a strategic merger with Riverside Community Care in 2009, strengthening and expanding its high-quality care. The Guidance Center provides an array of integrated services to help children and families cope with developmental, mental health, social and behavioral difficulties, as well as a range of disabilities. The Agency’s integrated continuum of family services supports the goals of all parents: to see their children imagine hopeful futures and grow into healthy, productive members of the community.

The Guidance Center's programs and services begin during pregnancy and continue though young adulthood. All of The Guidance Center's innovative programs are designed to build on the strengths and resilience of families to create lasting change.

• From pregnancy through age six, our Early Childhood Services provide a full range of developmental, mental health and support programs for children and their parents.
• Starting at age six, our Child and Adolescent Services provide a full continuum of mental health programs for children through age 22.
• For children and families who require more comprehensive support, our Intensive Family Services help prevent a child's out-of-home placement or reunify a child placed out-of-home with his or her family.
